The least expensive way to change the look of a bathroom is to add new accessories such as a matching mirror, tooth mug holder, bathroom vanity unit and soap dish. Pale or neutral coloured fittings set against plain walls and floors are the most versatile bases from which to work. In a white or cream room, you can add a flowery festoon blind, pick out two or three of the colours for towels and add a wooden toilet seat and towel rail for a country look. Alternatively, you could choose a roller blind with a strongly coloured geometric design and take one colour from this to use as an accent.
Stylish setting
A classic white suite, a black and white tiled floor and chrome fittings are set against creamy walls. The look is spacious and smart but the mood is rather bleak. The introduction of just one strong colour a blue or green immediately makes this a more interesting scheme. The chrome trolley mirrors and the pictures well placed over the basins and bath further improve it. A couple of dramatic plants are the perfect finishing touch.
